1.July 13:  literaturecrazy from What was I reading? said, in response to discussion about cover attraction, I think it must be pretty tough on publishers because so much of beauty is (as the cliché says) in the eye of the beholder. Sometimes their great artwork could end up being, for some person, a turn-off. It's Catch-22, huh?

I love the other-side-of-the-coin aspect of comments that make me all ooo I didn’t think if that and how clever of Literaturecrazy used the title of a book in her answer – one that has entered the idiom to be such an evocative expression all on its own.

2. July 7 Nise' from Under the Boardwalk said I loved watching my kids get excited about books too!

Nies’ you always make it into my top 3! kids and books are a great combination… I think we are very alike.

3.July 31 Christina from Reading though the Night said Don't feel bad. I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now either.

My blogging friends make me feel so …normal :) it’s so good to know that others feel just the same way as me!

2. Nise' said about my TT: A great teaser! We have a wonderful lady at church who is in her 80', has never been married and says she never felt the need for a man. It must be a generational thing because Freda is also in her 80s, part of my church family, sister Australia’s 21st Prime Minister. Strong,  independent & happily single.

3. Whilst I lovingly refer to my good friend Becca as the Guru she, somewhat deflatingly, refers to me as ‘dork’ you didn't have to go back and edit it, you dork…of course I had to edit I’d hate to disappoint!

Now that’s the way to handle chocolates – a girl after my won heart!

2. Becca You did a wonderful job! Two things:
1) how long did it take you to do that? I can imagine it would be hard
2) I'm kinda scared, seeing as I know of your cooking history? Should the family be warned...?

Answer: 1) not long to execute - did it while I was supposedly watching netball (don’t tell Em) but longer in the thinking – have been mulling of over for a couple of weeks & enjoying it too.          2) if I’m cooking …be afraid, very afraid :)

1. Nise’ I am sorry about your dad's emphysema, it is hard, not only on the patient, but on the family as well.
Now Nise’ strikes me as being a very compassionate person. Her comments are always encouraging and I’m still amazed at this blogging-world where people I haven’t met are so kind and thoughtful.

2. Gautami Tripathy over at Everything Distils Into Reading has lost her blog due to Malware. As new as I am to blogging this sounds disastrous (and a little scary) but she's bouncing back and says to everyone Please do visit it, subscribe to it or follow it! Do help me spread the word so pop on over to see her new blog grow.

3. Dianne said Way to go on your 1st review :).Looking forward to many more which was very nice of her becasue I've since found a great book review guideline, thanks to Gautami, and I didn't even think of half the things on the list... hehehe never mind, Dianne's encouragement was most appreciated especially as her Book Resort is awesome!

Remember our recent discussion about blog comments? Well it got me thinking...I'd like to share my favourite responses from those who comment on my blog, so here are my

1. Becca You're the only one who calls me The Guru, you dork :)
This made me laugh out loud. I am a dork but the guru thing is taking off so ha ha to you Becca.

2. Matt's First line "Rose MacGregor laughed and shouldn't have." From Rose Variations by Marisha Chamberlain, made me think of that awkwardly supressed giggling I was inclined towards in Church when I was a little lass. Actually I still laugh at the most inappropriate moments, like when a loved-one walks into (& bounces off of) a very clean glass door holding a plate on newly cooked BBQ (which gets smooshed all down the front of his shirt - poor MGM).

3. Layla Wright of 2009 Read with kids Challenge who asked me to get the word out about this challenge which aims to get kids reading – goal 5 million minutes! – and offers a Disneyland Vacation prize too boot! I’m in Australia so I can’t say I’ll participate but I recomend these type of challenges to get your kids motivated. My kids participated in our Premier's Reading Challenge & enjoyed the competitiveness (it also makes reading a cool thing to talk about at school). My son was one a few top readers selected to have afternnon-tea with the Premier the year he participated. Any school library I've worked at has promoted it and reaped the rewards of readers asking for 'more books please.' It's great catalyst for getting kids and books together.
