First-to-hand firsts

* Copy/paste the question & button.
* leave a comment and link to your post, include author/title.
* There'll a puzzle, sometimes, answers next Friday. Most consistant first correct answer will get a prize (after the Guru shows me how I can do that).
*Lastly let me know what you think... got ideas for improvements?
cheers

This is sort of like Teaser Tuesday, I saw this somewhere in blogosphere sorry I can't tell you where but if it's your idea ...thanks (from a self-confessed copier).

Reach out and pick up the nearest book to you right now (don't go the bookshelf and pull off War and peace). What's the first line...

Mine is:

'Billy Weaver had travelled down from London on the slow afternoon train, with a change at Swindon on the way, and by the time he got to Bath it was about nine o'clock in the evening and the moon was coming up out of a clear starry sky over the houses opposite the station entrance.'

From Kiss, Kiss by Roald Dahl

Puzzle: who thought she's get the flowers herself?

I actually remembered and played today!

Here's mine! (Sorry, I haven't the slightest clue about the puzzle. I even tried searching for it with no success :( )

I played today, too. I don't have any idea of the puzzle, either.

This is fun. I really enjoy starting a book with a good opening line! Here the link to my blog:

Hmmm, is the answer to the puzzle Alice from Through the Looking Glass?

I'm with Luann. That's the only thing I could think of too.

I enjoyed this meme last week too. I know the answer to today's puzzle (I think). I haven't read the book yet but it's on my tbr list for the classics. Is it Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf? I hope I'm not spoiling it for others by giving the answer here. I'm too late to post a FF this week but I'm definitely doing it next week.

I love Matt's first line. How clever to make a reader like a character in the space of line line I like Rose MacGregor already!

And Sandra's correct Mrs Dalloway did indeed think she'd get the flowers herself.

thanks for playing Friday Firsts see you next week.
